Chiplotle Hates Gun Owners- Bans Guns

 

The social media bullies of Moms Demand Action have achieved a victory, they have convinced Chiplotle Mexican Grill to ban guns from their premises:

“We are respectfully asking that customers not bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel,” the statement from the Denver-based company said.

Oh yeah? Well I’m asking gun owners not to eat at Chiplotle, how about that?

The statement comes on the heels of a 10,000-signature petition from Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense and after gun aficionados brought semi-automatic, loaded assault weapons into a Dallas-area Chipotle’s.

“In less than 48 hours, Chipotle Mexican Grill responded to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’s petition asking them to prohibit guns from their restaurants,” the group says on its momsdemandaction.org web site “Thanks to you, our petition garnered more than 10,000 signatures in just a few hours!”

Their petition drive was fueled by a Twitter campaign dubbed #BurritosNotBullets.

Are you kidding me? I’ve seen 100,000-signature petitions. If Chipotle is scared of petitions, maybe we should start our own.

In the statement, Chipotle said the company does not want to be a lightning rod for the gun-control debate.

“However, because the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers, we think it is time to make this request,” said the statement, issued by Chris Arnold, Chipotle communications director.

“We acknowledge that there are strong arguments on both sides of this issue. We have seen those differing positions expressed in the wake of this event in Texas, where pro-gun customers have contacted us to applaud our support of the Second Amendment, and anti-gun customers have expressed concern over the visible display of military-style assault rifles in restaurants where families are eating.

“The vast majority of gun owners are responsible citizens and we appreciate them honoring this request. And we hope that our customers who oppose the carrying of guns in public agree with us that it is the role of elected officials and the legislative process to set policy in this area, not the role of businesses like Chipotle.”

OK Chipotle, here’s how you avoid getting involved in a debate. Just tell Moms Demand Action that you honor the gun laws of each State, and if the law permits concealed carry, open carry, etc, you’re going to honor that. But banning guns from your stores is getting involved with the debate. You are now our enemy, Chipotle, and unlike Comcast Cable, Disney, and AMC, I can live without burritos.

Here’s the crazy statement from Sharon Watts, MDA’s head fascist:

 “Moms are grateful to Chipotle for taking quick action today to stand up for the safety and security of our families,” Watts said in a statement.

“Chipotle’s statement that firearms are not welcome in their restaurants is bold and meaningful – it shows that you can support the Second Amendment while also taking reasonable measures to ensure that Americans are safe and secure in the places we take our children.”

Wrong! You’ve just made Chipotle a target of every mass shooter and gang banger in the land. Bad guys are gonna love Chipotle now, perfect place to shoot soft targets, maybe a few stupid moms as well.
