Shotgun vs AR15 Meme.
Have you ever fired a shotgun?
This is not a case of Free Speech, for it wasn’t the government that censored Phil Robertson, one of the stars of Duck Dynasty who’s also pro-gun and pro-hunting.
“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been suspended indefinitely by A&E Networks following controversial remarks about homosexuality, Variety reported Wednesday.
…“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he tells reporter Drew Magary. “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

Now I don’t know what the big deal is. He is quoting the Bible, I’m not a fan of that Bible verse, I prefer the one about tattoos, but I can’t chastise a man for speaking his truth.
He also muses rather colorfully about his own sexual orientation: “It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
Give him a break, this is not a dude who grew up with the Playboy Channel. He’s never seen two men copulating with a woman, with one inserting his you know what where the sun don’t shine. Folks, we all like different things when it comes to sex, why give Phil a hard time over what he likes?
GLAAD rep Wilson Cruz responded to Robertson’s remarks with a statement:
“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans — and Americans — who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Cruz, but what Phil said is what true Christians believe as oppose to those of the Church of God Loves Everyone and Accepts Everything. Why do you think so many people are becoming Atheist or secular? They just don’t like the Bible. And who can blame them? Being a Christian means no gay sex, no premarital sex, and in the case of Mormons, you can’t even have a cup of coffee or a nice cold beer. And no, I’m not attacking Christianity, just telling it like it is.
I personally laugh at all this culture war nonsense, I don’t even take seriously those who criticize my own lifestyle. The way I see it, you’re free to disagree as long as you get out of my way. So if Phil doesn’t like gay sex, big freaking deal, it’s not like gays had him in their bucket list, you know, 1,000 Men to F-ck Before I Die, or in the case of lesbians, 5 Women to Have Relationships With Before I Die. LOL.
In a quote that may raise even more eyebrows than his feelings about gays, Robertson claims he “never” saw black people mistreated during the pre-civil rights era in his home state, and strongly suggests that African Americans were more content under Jim Crow.
“Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash,” he said. ”They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”
So that’s his perspective, that’s what he saw, are you gonna call him a liar? It’s what he saw.
Bring him back, A&E, the people who watch Duck Dynasty love Phil. Bravo didn’t listen to critics when you had Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, they listened to ratings, the only thing that matters.
This discrimination against Christians is only going to backfire. I hate to use the term “homophobia,” but this is exactly what A&E is doing, they’re creating animosity against gays based on a few damn activists. GLAAD doesn’t pay your bills, the people who watch your damn show do.

What do you think?
Florida is considering a bill, HB 89, that would protect citizens who defensively display firearms or who fire warning shots, from being victimized by the law for the act of defending themselves. The genesis of the law is the fact that most people are able to defend themselves by merely showing the attacker that they are armed. This defuses the situation in the vast majority of cases: people do not want to be shot. There’s apparently no truth to the rumor that, should it be enacted, the law will be known in the Sunshine State as Jill Biden’s Law . . .

Let’s look at the Positives.
Here are the Negatives
The Truth about Guns disagrees with me: “The bill appears to be modeled closely on the Arizona law. It is common sense legislation designed to promote safety. Who could oppose that?”
Maybe he’s right, if this law increases the rate of gun ownership since now the bleeding-hearts can issue warning shots instead of deadly force, perhaps it’s a good thing.
Some of my Tea Party friends may be unhappy, but the NRA has to endorse a man with a proven track record on guns.
A statement from the NRA’s PAC chairman called Cornyn, the Senate minority whip, a “consistent and passionate champion of our Second Amendment rights” and noted his “A+ rating” from the group — an important endorsement in the deep-red state’s primary, which takes place in March.
….
Stockman (R-Texas), a firebrand conservative, once issued bumper stickers reading, “If babies had guns, they wouldn’t be aborted,” and called for President Barack Obama’s impeachment over gun control. He shook up the Senate primary with an 11th-hour entry that shocked observers in Washington and Austin, but so far hasn’t secured the endorsements of key conservative groups such as the Club for Growth, which is staying out of the contest.(QUIZ: How well do you know Re. Steve Stockman?)
“The right to keep and bear arms is a sovereign one, and for many folks like myself hunting and shooting sports are part of a rich and long Texas tradition of enjoying the outdoors,” Cornyn said in a statement. He added, “As the Obama political machine sets their sights on turning our state blue, I’m proud of the support of the most respected gun rights organization in the nation.”

A friendly suggestion, Mr. Cornyn, before mentioning hunting and the shooting sports, mention self-defense.
With cops like these, who needs criminals?
POMPANO BEACH — A Broward Sheriff’s deputy was terminated in November after allegedly pointing a gun at a fellow deputy and pulling the trigger to see whether the gun would work, records released this week show.
John Marra, a deputy for nearly eight years, acknowledged pulling the trigger but denied pointing the gun at his colleague.

Granted, it’s a “he said, he said” situation. I don’t know if these two cops are anti-gun, but this goes to show that just because someone has gotten training doesn’t mean he’s responsible. I doubt I can shoot as well as a cop, but you’re never gonna find me doing what he did.
So officer, let’s review the rules of gun safety:
1. Never point your gun at anything you don’t wish to destroy.
2. Always treat your gun like its loaded.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot.
