Police in Iceland Shoot and Kill a Suspect For the First Time in History.

According to a report fromEuroNews.com, police in Iceland have shot and killed an armed suspect.

To those of us in the US, that might not be a very alarming headline. However, this was the first time that any police officer in Iceland ever shot and killed a suspect…ever.

According to EuroNews,

Shortly after 05:00 am local time the man started to fire shots from a window. Police returned fire. According to eyewitnesses, some sort of smoke bomb was thrown into the apartment through a broken window. Armed police entered the apartment of the gunman at around 06:00 am and the man was shot in the process. He was taken out in a stretcher and taken to hospital before being pronounced dead.

Iceland’s lack of crime is well documented. Iceland has one of the lowest homicide rates in the modern world, usually going without a murder for over a year

The country also more closely resembles the US as far as gun ownership than the EU. Icelanders own over 90,000 guns – with a population of just over 300,000. This is in comparison to the estimated fewer than 1,500 guns owned by the government and police agencies (yes, 1,500).

Although Iceland does have fairly strict ownership requirements for firearms and does limit the types of guns that can be owned.

Does the fact that 1 in 3 Icelanders may have firearms in their home help to keep their crime rate at one of the lowest in the world?

You call that violence? Amy from The Big Bang Theory loves being spanked. Some call that light bondage or s/m.

Reponse to an Anti-Gun Nurse.

The following is a response to an anti-gun diatribe by a nurse.

Nurses like Carolyn Ingram know as much about gun violence as I know about nursing, in other words, nothing. The ability to remove a bullet from a body does not make you an authority on gun control or the Second Amendment. A butcher can lecture me about cutting meat, but he knows nothing about raising cattle.

When a patient arrives at the ER with a bullet wound, nurses don’t know who he is. He could be a criminal, a cop, a law-abiding citizen, an illegal alien, etc. Nurses, being the bleeding-hearts that they are, feel sorry for all patients. It’s the rest of us that discriminate; we don’t shed tears for criminal scum, but cheer for the law-abiding gun owners that shoot them.

I know this may sound heartless to some of you, but a individuals who cry for criminals bring down societies.

If gun control really worked, as Nurse Dumb claims, then why did California have the highest number of gun murders in 2011 according to FBI’s uniform crime reports?

This is ironic considering that it was named the state with the strongest gun control laws in 2011 by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

On the other hand, Texas, with a population of 25.6 million and plenty of pro-gun laws, had nearly half the gun murders California got in 2011.

Of course, Nurse Gun Banner has to bring up Newton, should we lose our gun rights because of one gun massacre in federally-mandated gun-free zone? Hey Nurse, you wanted gun-free zones? You’ve got them! So instead of blaming the NRA for Newton, why not take a good look at the gun control laws you support?

In Israel they don’t have gun massacres because teachers are allowed to carry guns, and we’re not talking about a small revolver in your purse, we’re taking about Galil rifles, Uzis, and other weapons you display openly to let the terrorists know that you are not an easy target.

It is time for freedom-loving Americans to stand up to the anti-gun lobby and billionaires like Bloomberg with their 17 gun-tootin’ guards. Will the limousine liberals and bleeding-heart nurses support armed bodyguard control? I doubt it.

Gun violence is a gun-free zone problem. The Second Amendment isn’t about society, it’s about the INDIVIDUAL and his ability to defend himself and his country. We as a society do nothing, we as individuals do everything. Ingram did not get permission from society to become a nurse, I don’t need it to get a gun. The 2nd Amendment is my gun permit, lady, and if you don’t like it then move to California where criminals go through background checks and obey all gun laws.

By the way, when a nurse walks to her car at 3AM in the morning, who’s gonna protect her? The State? A Cop? Or the gun in her holster? Maybe Nurse Nanny State should rethink her views on the Second Amendment, because at the end of the day, diatribes against our gun rights won’t protect your life, but owning a gun will.

Come 2014, all ammunition sold to civilian gun-owners in America will have to be imported, a result of President Obama’s crackdown on sulfur dioxide and lead emissions and accompanying harsh Environmental Protection Agency regulations, said former Florida congressman, Lt. Col. Allen West.

He said the situation stemmed from the shutdown of The Doe Run Lead Smelter in Missouri, a business that’s been around since 1892 but due to close at the end of this month. Mr. West said it’s due to new air standards placed on the company that would have cost $100 million to achieve.

….

“You can own all the guns you want, but if you can’t get ammo, you are out of luck,” Mr. West wrote, on his blog. “Remember when President Obama promised his minions that he was working on gun control behind the scenes? Welcome to it. The result is that all domestically mined ore will have to be shipped overseas, refined and then shipped back to the U.S.”

NBC’s Hysteria over ‘Mass Killings’ in the U.S.

The article begins as most anti-gun articles do, with a scary headline.

Mass killings occur in USA once every two weeks

Run for your lives! We’re living in Auschwitz!

Using news accounts and FBI records from 2006 through 2010, the most recent years for which complete records were available, USA TODAY identified 156 murders that met the FBI definitions of mass killings, where four or more people were killed.

All told, the attacks killed 774 people, including at least 161 young children.

That’s the FBI definition of mass killing? Rudolf Höss must be laughing in hell.

Of course, the inconvenient truths start coming out at the middle of the article, perfect for those who only read the lead and then give up.

A third of mass killings didn’t involve guns at all. In 15 incidents, the victims died in a fire. In 20 others, the killer used a knife or a blunt object.

 

No statement from Mayors Against Illegal Fires/Knives/Blunt Objects?

And here’s how the article finished, what should have been in the lead got written last.

But for all the attention they receive, mass killings still accounted for only a tiny fraction — about 1% — of all the Americans who were murdered over those five years. During those five years, more died from migraines and falling out of chairs than were murdered by mass killers, according to death records kept by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Three times as many people perished from sunstroke.

Look at all the things libs will have to ban now- Charis, migraines, even the very sun.

 

 

Gun Rights Win at Bethany Beach.

A bike shop is in the process of changing ownership, the new owner has an FFL and wants to sell firearms. No problem, right? Not if you ask Bethany Beach officials, who only relented after looking at Delaware law.

Bethany Beach officials cannot keep Bethany Cycle and Fitness from selling and transferring firearms.

Local resident Carol Brigleb voiced concerns more than a year ago about the practice and the council began examining the law after the bike shop was in the process of changing ownership.

However, Delaware state law prohibits municipalities from restricting ownership, transfer or possession of firearms.

Mayor Tony McClenny told the Wilmington News Journal that the town will not be pursuing any change.

Alton Jones who owns the bike shop acquired a federal firearms license for the store on eight years ago.

But local resident Brigleb told the paper that there were more appropriate places to sell guns in Sussex County and that it did not fit the image of Bethany Beach as a family town with retirees.

 

I’m glad the Mayor came to his senses, as for Brigleb, who the hell are you to decide where we can sell guns? And why would you assume retirees don’t want to buy guns? Lots of retirees already do, and plenty have shot burglars and other dangerous criminals.

Brigleb sounds like the typical Obama-lover, they have no respect for the individual, it’s always about what the “community” wants or needs.

 

 

 

Keep your Bag Closed if you have a gun.

I don’t know if this guy was a criminal or not, but if you’re bringing your gun to the University of Phoenix’s  “Gun-Free Zone,” make sure nobody sees it.

A 21 year-old University of Memphis student was arrested after bringing a loaded handgun to class on Wednesday.

Not sure what U of M student, George Miller, was thinking when he brought a loaded handgun to school but he was arrested and charged for carrying a gun on the school property.

Carrying a gun on school property is against the school firearm policy which prohibits bringing weapons on campus except law enforcement officers in performance of their duties. One other exception to the rule of carrying a firearm on campus is when it is used for instructional or school-sanctioned ceremonial purposes.

According to authorities, a student alerted police of the gun that they saw in Miller’s bag in the Life Sciences building. As soon as Miller stepped outside his class, the police were waiting for him and patted him down.

Police found a fully loaded handgun and two full magazines inside of the bag George Miller was carrying.
