Gun Advocate: Give Me My Guns Back.

Great example of how the Statists play tricks with the people:

Fort Hood Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham was arrested in March by Temple Police while hiking with his son.

Police were called after someone saw him openly carrying a rifle which is legal under state law.

In November, Bell County found him guilty of interfering with the duties of an officer, fined him $2,000 and sent him on his way.

Two weeks ago, he started trying to get his guns back. He says he started looking at the police department — no guns there — they told him to try County Attorney Jim Nichols’ office.

“So I went to the county prosecutor’s office with an actual formal request in my hand based off of the law. The county prosecutors wouldn’t talk to me. They said they’re not gonna talk to me without my attorney and I said ‘I’m not gonna pay an attorney to come here and give you a piece of paper I’ve got in my hands’ and they just walked away from me,” Grisham said.

Grisham says then he filed the request with the county clerk’s office and called the county again this past Monday. He says this time they told him they didn’t know where the guns were.

“Give me my guns back. Right now. You have no reason to hold them. This wasn’t a gun case, you said so yourself it wasn’t a gun case…so give me my guns back,” Grisham said.

We called county attorney Jim Nichols for comment. Nichols told us in a statement.

“During the course of the trial, several photos, diagrams, recordings and weapons were entered into evidence. As in all cases, physical evidence is marked and preserved by the court reporter in the case. All evidence is stored pending a final disposition of the case,” Nichols said.

“Well then why is the court reporter telling us that they don’t have it? I mean, it seems like everybody that we speak to from Temple P.D. to the Sheriff’s department to the court, the county clerk…nobody seems to have these guns,” Grisham said.

Grisham says his attorneys are appealing the verdict — but they haven’t filed yet. He says even so, it shouldn’t matter.

“It doesn’t matter. Because the appeals court isn’t gonna hear evidence. In an appeal, he’s not gonna be taken in there showing guns off to the appellate judge because we’re arguing matters of law not matters of evidence,” Grisham said.

Grisham says his AR-15 and pistol are worth $1200 and $900 respectively.

“In all, they’ve got over $2000 worth of my property so maybe I should just not pay the fine and consider the debt even,” Grisham joked.

Nichols also said “The county attorney’s office has not filed for forfeiture, nor does it intend to seek forfeiture of any of the items entered into evidence in this case. However, since thirty days have not elapsed since the jury rendered its verdict and sentence, the judgment is not yet final. Until the judgment becomes final, either by operation of law or through the appellate process, the items in question remain in evidence.”

Grisham says he’s already made a couple of payments toward his 2 grand.

But when we told him what the county said about the 30 days, Grisham says he’s not paying a penny more until he gets his guns back. And he says he’ll be asking for them on day 31.

Best of luck, Mr. Grisham. Perhaps you should move to a State that’s more gun-friendly like Tennessee. If not, continue fighting. If you’re seeking donations and have a link, post it in the comment section.

Democrats Kill People.

If you’re a pro-gun Democrat, apologies, this isn’t about you.

In 1865 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States .

In 1963 a radical left wing communist shot and killed John F. Kennedy, President of the United States.

In 1975 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at Gerald Ford, President of the United States.

In 1983 a registered Democrat shot and wounded Ronald Reagan.

In 1984 James Huberty a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 22 people in a McDonalds restaurant.

In 1986 Patrick Sherril a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 15 people in an Oklahoma post office.

In 1990 James Pough a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 10 people at a GMAC office.

In 1991 George Hennard a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 23 people in a Lubys cafeteria.

In 1995 James Daniel Simpson a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 5 coworkers in a Texas laboratory.

In 1999 Larry Asbrook a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 8 people at a church service.

In 2001 a left wing radical Democrat fired shots at the White House in a failed attempt to kill George W. Bush, President of the US.

In 2003 Douglas Williams a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people at a Lockheed Martin plant.

In 2007 a registered Democrat named Seung – Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech .

In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed 6 others.

In 2011 a registered Democrat named James Holmes went into a Colorado movie theater and shot and killed 12 people.

In 2012 Andrew Engeldinger a disgruntled Democrat shot and killed 7 people in Minneapolis.

On 9/16/2013, another mentally ill liberal, Aaron Alexis, killed 12 innocents at the Navy Yard in Washington DC.

Yet you won’t see me demanding that Democrats be banned or controlled. Just get a gun and defend yourself when Democrats Go

Another Arrest over a BB Gun.

Didn’t Obama once referred to America as a nation of cowards? Perhaps he was projecting his feelings as a liberal.

HUNTSVILLE - Police arrested a Huntsville student Wendesday after a complaint from a parent that he brought a BB gun to school.

It happened at Huntsville High school when district officials say they found a BB gun inside the student’s backpack. They say the high school was not locked down and appropriate steps were taken to ensure student safety.

The district says appropriate administrative discipline action was taken against the student according to its official code of conduct.

Police records show the student was arrested on a minor weapons charge.

Cop gets his gun stolen.

Never put your faith in the authorities, here’s why:

MINNEAPOLIS – A department-issued handgun, ammunition and uniform were among the items stolen from the car of an off-duty Minneapolis police officer last month.

Police said that the pickup truck, owned by Bryan Castle, was parked in a drug store parking lot in St. Paul when it was broken into.

Later that day, Minneapolis police spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Hopkins. The vehicle was pulled over and the 17-year-old driver was arrested.

Items belonging to Officer Castle were found in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence turned up more evidence, but items including a .45-caliber handgun and his uniform have not been found.

The teenager admitted stealing the vehicle, but he would not cooperate with police when asked about the stolen police equipment.

Of course, if it had happened to a civilian… Well, you know.

Investor Activists Attack Amazon over Gun Accessories.

Amazon doesn’t sell guns, yet what they sell upsets the gun banners:

By Ross KerberBOSTON (Reuters) – Activist investors have asked Amazon.com Inc to review its sales of firearms accessories, concerned that the online retailer offers products that could be used to convert semi-automatic rifles into weapons that fire too rapidly to be legal.

….

An Amazon representative said the company does not sell guns or ammunition and cited its policies in response to other questions. The company’s website notes that some jurisdictions might restrict the sale of some products. It also says it prohibits third parties from selling on Amazon “converters that can give a gun automatic capability” and “parts or accessories related to assault weapons.”

While Amazon isn’t the most pro-gun company in the world, they are not the most anti-gun either. I like the fact that you can buy almost anything there, including books that no brick and mortar bookseller would ever touch.

Let’s just hope they listen to their CUSTOMERS and not to a bunch of a-hole activist investors. Hey Amazon, you can always find new investors, in fact, most investors are interested in MAKING MONEY, so let those fiends sell their shares, others will buy them.

Guns are NOT among America’s 9 Biggest Killers.

Source: http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/americas-biggest-killers-the-chart-anti-gunners-dont-want-you-to-see_01052013

The Newton anniversary has brought out the gun haters, Wintemute (notorious anti-gun researcher and NRA member) is giddy with Obama releasing monies for anti-gun research, Policy Mic is doing an “Eerie Glimpse” into the gun store that sold the weapon Adam Lanza allegedly used.

They say sunshine is the best disinfectant, so let the cleaning begin:

“In the midst of the heated gun control debate permeating over the country like a foul odor, we are led to believe that gun violence, suicides, and accidents are a major cause of death in the United States. However, gun related murder is extremely rare, accounting for about .005% of all deaths in the country last year. Even rarer are murders committed with so called “assault rifles,” which pans out to about .0002% of all murders in 2011. (Note: these numbers are based on mathematical analysis of FBI Uniform Crime statistics, and statistics from the U.S. Center for Disease Control.)

With all of our attention directed at a cause of death that turns out to be a statistical anomaly, we unfortunately skip over the biggest causes of death. While gun related murders and suicides are tragic, it is troublesome to miss these other issues and leave them unattended to.

Here are the nine leading causes of death in the United States:

1. Obesity and 2. Smoking

These two make the top of the list, and share a spot because of for one major reason. While obesity can occasionally be the result of thyroid problems or other medical disorders, it is in large part based on over consumption of sugar and fats and is thus preventable. Likewise, smoking is well-known as being an extremely unhealthy lifestyle choice. Furthermore, these two are both major causes of many of the other disorders that make up this list.
While these choices can be partially attributed to deeper cultural issues, the fact is that nobody is putting a cigarette in your mouth or shoving sweets and fast food down your gullet. Thus, the two major leading causes of death in this country can be all but wiped out if people treat their bodies with some respect. I’ve been known to have a cigar or a McDonald’s burger a time or two, but moderation is key.
If we want to tackle major causes of death in this country, this is the place to start. Here are the nine leading causes of death in the United States:

3. Heart disease (approximately 598,000 deaths per year)

Though there is a large number of different heart diseases, one of the largest is Congestive Heart Failure. The risk of getting Congestive Heart Failure increases with age, but also greatly increases if you are a smoker, have diabetes or high blood pressure, and/or have a diet with excessive sodium intake.

4. Cancer (approximately 575,000 deaths per year)

The causes of all cancers are not well known, but various daily activities for many people greatly increase the risk including smoking, excessive tanning, and diets high in processed foods. Obesity, sedentary lifestyle and pollutants can also cause cancer.

5. Chronic lower respiratory disease (Approximately 138,000 deaths per year)

Chronic lower respiratory diseases in include asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema. The latter of the three are typically caused by cigarette smoking or inhalation of other irritants such as dust and fumes while working in farming, carpentry, or manufacturing. While asthma can sometimes be genetic, it can be caused or exacerbated by these same factors.

6. Stroke (approximately 129,500 deaths per year)

Stroke refers to the loss of brain function after a decrease in blood flow to the brain. This can cause vision loss, immobility of one side of the body, and slurred speech in its early stages. As the stroke progresses, loss of consciousness and eventually death will occur. Strokes can have a large number of causes, but your risk increases if you have high cholesterol, if you smoke, if you’re overweight, when using illicit drugs such as cocaine or methamphetamine, or using birth control supplements such as estrogen.

7. Accidents (approximately 121,000 deaths per year)

This is a number that shocked me. Though still statistically a small number, over 120,000 deaths per year as a result of accidents seems excessive. The three most common types of accidents resulting in death are car accidents, falls, and unintentional poisonings.

8. Alzheimer’s disease (approximately 83,500 deaths per year)

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dimension. It is an untreatable degenerative disorder which worsens as it progresses, causing severe confusion, memory loss, and eventually death. Though the cause of Alzheimer’s disease is mostly unknown, the onset is thought to be associated with age and stress.

9. Diabetes (approximately 69,000 deaths per year)

Type 1 Diabetes results from the body’s failure to produce insulin and Type 2 Diabetes results from insulin resistance. Both are at least partially genetic, though Type 2 Diabetes can result due to lifestyle factors such as age or unhealthy diet.”

Yet you won’t see me demanding any “controls” over those causes.

10 Best Gun Books.

Ammo is too expensive to shoot 24/7, that’s why you’ve got to read sometimes.

The website Gatling.biz wrote a list of their 10 favorite books.

9. (tie) Brownell’s catalog and Numrich Gun Parts Corporation catalogs. New parts or used parts, these catalogs are rich in parts and pictures to help with any firearm repair project.

8. Glock: The Rise of America’s Gun. By Paul M. Barrett. More about marketing than mechanics, this well-researched chronicles how Glock turned upside down common conceptions about how guns should look and work.

7. Blue Book of Gun Values. By S.P. Fjestad. Now in its 34th edition. Expanding on Chapel’s lead, until the Internet, this was the only way for gun buyers and sellers made sure each was getting a fair deal.

6. Dixie Gun Works Catalog. Before Val Forgett’s Navy Arms made replica black powder guns available to shoot, you had to make do with the originals, often restored to working order with parts from Dixie or firing round balls cast from Turner Kirkland’s innovative molds machined from hair straighteners. An essential, entertaining resource. Let’s see what we have here …

5. Small Arms of the World: A basic manual of military small arms. By W.H.B. Smith. An excellent history followed by a massive guide of how to load, fire and fieldstrip military small arms anywhere in the world. What’s not to like?

4. A History of the Colt Revolver. By Charles T. Havens and Frank A. Belden. The history of how a Yankee inventor’s dream – a gun that fired more than one shot before reloading — became reality. Photos plus patents and advertising.

3. The Gun Collector’s Handbook of Values. Author Charles Edward Chapel said that every time you buy a gun, you should buy a book about it. I subscribed to that theory; thus I’m now sharing what I’ve learned. From 1940 through the mid-70s, this was THE book to consult on gun values.

2. Hatcher’s Notebook: A Standard Reference Book for Shooters, Gunsmiths, Ballisticians, Historians, Hunters, and Collectors. By Julian S. Hatcher, retired U.S. Army major general, technical editor for The American Rifleman, and director of the National Rifle Association from 1922-1946.

1. Sixguns. By Elmer Keith. Ned Buntline and Zane Gray may have written about the Wild West, but, as Keith puts it in his autobiography, “Hell, I Was There!” Sixguns is not a textbook or armorer’s manual. It’s a social history of why we have a gun culture; good, bad or otherwise.

When to draw your gun?

The Where to Draw Your Gun article at GunNuts.net goes into further details, but here are the highlights.

  1. Am I serious danger? If no, proceed as normal. If yes, proceed to question 2
  2. Can I retreat or flee without exposing myself to additional danger? If yes, run away like a little girl. If no, proceed to question 3
  3. Is the danger I’m in a credible threat of death or grievous bodily harm? If no, examine what force options are available other than lethal force. This can include pepper spray, contact weapons, hands-on fighting, or de-escalating the situation. If yes, proceed to step 4.
  4. Am I prepared to shoot this person right now? If your answer is no, you shouldn’t be carrying a gun.
