Guns Holders Deposit Arms with Police

Nearly 385 licensed gun-holders deposited their weapons in their respective police station limit in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

They surrendered the arms adhering to the direction from the District Election Officers of the respective districts. The last date to surrender the arms is March 15. In Vellore district, as many as 220 out of the total 920 licensed gun-holders had surrendered their arms till Saturday.

Of the total 239 licensed gun-holders in Tiruvannamalai, a total of 165 left their guns with the police. The police officials expected that the remaining owners of the licensed gun would deposit their arms within two or three days.

Will the criminals be surrendering their guns as well?  And what exactly are the election officers afraid of? Shootings at the polls? Fools, but let’s not be too judgmental with India when we have Moms Demand Action and Bloomberg wanting the same for us.
