Gun-Hating Gamble Doesn’t Want Guns on Campus

They say a cockroach can survive on hour in the snow. Well, there are gun-hating cockroaches in Alaska…

JUNEAU, Alaska — The president of the University of Alaska system is raising concerns with a bill that would allow the legal concealed carry of firearms on university system campuses.

Pat Gamble told the Senate Judiciary Committee that 15,000 to 20,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade visit university system campuses. He says he could not protect them if the bill passes.

He noted that the courts make an exception to the right to bear firearms when it comes to schools with a K-12 population.

The bill, sponsored by Republican Sen. John Coghill, would forbid the University of Alaska Board of Regents from enacting firearms regulations that does not comply with state firearms regulations.

The bill remains in committee.

Protect them from what, Mr Gamble? Law-abiding gun owners? These liberals remind me of American tourists in Brazil that forget they’re in a dangerous country and then wonder why their organs are being harvested (Turistas was based on true events). We are not the threat, Gamble, the crazy murderers that ignore your gun-free signs are what you should fear.

  2. They do realize that if someone meets the requirements for carry that they would be carrying everywhere else also? What disqualifies them the instant they enroll in college? Technically, due to age requirements, only upperclassmen would be carrying. It’s not like freshman would be running around armed! I love their comments about “protecting” everyone from the gun people!

  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t even know the laws they oppose. Another popular lie is that kids are pretty crazy in college and adding guns to the mix means nightly shootouts at the Kappa Delta Gamma frat party.
