Slumdog Gun Control: Beware of Obama’s Choice for Surgeon General

US Surgeon General nominee Vivek Murthy recalls India experience

Dr. Vivek Hallegere Murthy

America needs a Surgeon General like it needs amnesty for illegal aliens, Vivek Hallegere Murthy is worst than Clinton’s SG which told the kids to masturbate (better advice than gun control).

Republicans however, are doing their jobs:

Republicans questioned the bona fides of President Obama’s choice for surgeon general, grilling him over his stance on gun control and the health law.

Los Angeles Times: Republicans Criticize Surgeon General At Senate Hearing
President Obama’s choice to become the next surgeon general spent much of his confirmation hearing Tuesday deflecting criticism from Republicans, who attacked him for his political activism, ties to the president and relative inexperience. Vivek Hallegere Murthy, who at 36 would be one of the youngest surgeon generals, was chided for advocating gun control in the aftermath of the December 2012 school shooting in Newtown, Conn., and for backing the Affordable Care Act as a co-founder of Doctors for America, formerly Doctors for Obama (Clozel, 2/4).

The Washington Post: Republicans Question Surgeon General Nominee Over Advocacy For Health-Care law
Murthy, 36, who would be the first Indian American to become chief U.S. doctor, works at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and is an instructor at Harvard Medical School. If confirmed, he will take over for acting surgeon general Boris D. Lushniak, who stepped in when Regina Benjamin left the post in July (Hicks, 2/4).

Obama’s BFF was born in England and raise in Florida, and he denies having any political ambitions (LOL).

He said he would use his position to educate the public on health-related issues, particularly obesity, preventive care and community-health initiatives.

”I do not intend to use the surgeon general’s office as a bully pulpit for gun control,” Murthy said, adding that he thought it was “very important to bring people together of all political stripes and beliefs.”

Let me translate: “I will gather Marxists, Moderates, Health Nazis, and push gun bans, food bans, and force Americans to exercise in the name of public health.” Think about this, if CVS can choose to stop selling tobacco to honor Obamacare, imagine what this slumdog could do.

Lastly, before anyone call us racist lets remind them that we love Dinesh D’Souza, I have read Obama’s America and saw the movie. Dinesh loves America the way it is, Vivek should have stayed in England with the rest of those red coats.

Wendy Davis Pro-Gun?

Check this out:

AUSTIN, Texas — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis says her support of expanding gun rights in Texas includes allowing people with concealed handgun licenses to openly carry their weapons in public.

The concept is known as “open carry” and it essentially allows license holders to carry a pistol on their hip without having to hide it.

The issue has been a popular gun rights position in the Republican primary. Davis’ position aligns her with her Republican rival, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Abbott’s position was well known. Davis gave her support for open carry in a statement to The Associated Press.

Abbott already has a concealed handgun license, and Davis has said she wants to get one.

Before we get too excited about Wendy’s sudden embrace of gun rights, let us remember that Bill Clinton has an A-Rating from the NRA back when he was governor of Arkansas. So Davis’ pro-gun views seems a little self-serving, and I do realize there are Democrats who are pro-gun, but I figure this woman realizes she already has the pro-abortion vote so now she can screw gun-hating liberals and try to please gun owners.

So at this point, Abbott is looking good.

Gun Haters Tries to Compromise NRA Survey

Here’s what the enemy did:

Candice Andalia
Wayne LaPierre just sent this survey, which will be used to lobby Congress re: gun ownership.

I think it’s time we showed the NRA how people actually feel about the “Obama Gun-ban Agenda.” Will you help me spread the word to get people to take the survey? http://www.nra.org/action-survey/default.aspx?s=ngo2014&ek=Y4AE648N

What Candice forgot is that once you finish the survey, you don’t get survey results but an invitation to join the NRA. So go ahead, Candice, waste your time filling surveys, when the NRA wants to publish results, they mail the survey to actual members to avoid tricksters like you.

Fear vs. Freedom: Proposal to Restrict Guns in New Mexico’s Capitol

They’re trying to restrict firearms from the New Mexico Capitol, a proposal that cleared the house but failed in the senate, and this comment caught my attention:

Democratic Sen. Peter Wirth of Santa Fe said he proposed the restrictions after constituents told him they were afraid last year to attend legislative proceedings because gun rights supporters were openly carrying handguns and rifles in the Capitol. Rep. Brian Egolf, a Santa Fe, gave a similar explanation for why he was pushing the restrictions in the House.

“When citizens feel that they can’t participate in the democratic process because you’ve got a roomful of people legally carrying firearms, something is not working,” Wirth said.

Cry me a river, when I was a smoker I did not want to participate on jury duty because I feared being without my cigs, yet I doubt my former habit would have been accepted as an excuse to get out of jury duty.

Here’s how real Americans deal with fear:

Rep. Cathrynn Brown, a Carlsbad Republican, said she had received death threats as a legislator.

“There are people who will threaten you because they want you to walk in fear,” she said. “And I have a right, as a woman and as a citizen, to exercise my constitutional right and if I choose to have a firearm, that is my right.”

That’s what separates Republicans from Democrats, we act as individuals, they demand everyone else act like they do. If we’re afraid, we get a gun, if they’re afraid, they do a gun ban and hope criminals will behave themselves.

Florida bill targets anti-gun insurers

The insurance industry judges people based on group membership. If you’re single, you pay more than if you’re married for example because actuaries think single people are unhappier and more likely to die or get hurt.

Other forms of discrimination includes higher rates for airline pilots, people who jump out of planes, etc. So the following bill is a good thing.

Florida has more than 1 million concealed weapons permit holders. In Tallahassee, a proposal is being considered in the House, by the The House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, that would prevent a property or auto insurer from refusing to issue or renew a policy based on a person’s legal use, possession or ownership of a firearm. A similar bill is in the Senate.

“I think it’s a good idea,” Farhat said. “I don’t think that just because someone owns — whether it be one gun or several guns — I don’t think someone should just be disqualified or potentially disqualified from home or auto insurance.”
