Bullets Over Broadway- The Hypocrisy of Liberal Art

Here’s an interesting play you might want to watch:

NEW YORK – The new musical “Bullets Over Broadway” begins with a Mafia goon firing a machine gun into the theater curtain, spelling out the title of the show.

The bullets are a staccato punctuation that the award-winning director and choreographer is back to her winning ways after a few stumbles, including this season’s uneven “Big Fish.”

But at the helm of this thrilling Woody Allen 1994 film adaptation, Stroman has created musical theater bliss, fittingly at the St. James Theatre, the venue where her last megahit, “The Producers,” was staged.

“Bullets Over Broadway” opened Thursday and has to have become a Tony Award favorite.

When the critical reviews of the fictional play come out at the end of the show, the consensus must be the same about this fun, beautiful musical: “A work of art of the highest caliber.”

So let me get this straight, according to liberals, it’s not OK to take your 11-year-old daughter to the gun range or your 6-year-old hunting or for a woman to carry a gun so she can shoot the rapist hiding in a dark corner, but, it’s perfectly fine to enjoy “Bullets Over Broadway,” a musical that celebrates criminals.

If liberals had any integrity, they would demand an art world as boring as they are. Instead of Bullets Over Broadway, why not Kindness Over Broadway? Go ahead, liberals, write a musical about people giving each other hugs while singing kumbaya.

I’m kidding of course, I enjoy your violent entertaining, whether it’s Chicago, a musical about women making excuses for murdering their partners or Kill Bill or Saw.

I enjoy fictional violence because I know it isn’t real. An actor crying in pain is not the same as a real snuff film. Yet at least I don’t go around trying to control the things liberals enjoy.

Thus I offer a truce to the liberals, you can keep your culture, I will oppose any government-law that interferes with the First Amendment, just leave my Second Amendment alone.
