The enemy is once again using junk science to attack our 2nd Amendment rights.
“A new meta-analysis of gun research—the first systematic review of its kind—from the University of California, San Francisco, published in Annals of Internal Medicine today, has seemingly put an end to the debate over safety, at least in terms of suicide and homicide. Pooling results from 15 investigations, researchers found that a person with access to a gun is unequivocally less safe in terms of intentional death. Those with the ability to get to a gun are three times as likely to commit suicide and twice as likely to be the victim of a homicide than people without access.
Guns are the most popular and effective method of killing—both of oneself and of others. Around 31,000 die by the gun annually and gun deaths make up over half of all completed suicides and over two-thirds of all homicides.”

These are the lies that will be repeated a thousand times, but here’s what they won’t tell you.
1. America has 300 million people, including 100 million gun owners. Yet in Venezuela with all their gun control and restrictions, there were 28,000 murders in 2013, this in a country of 30 million people. Think about it, Venezuela has 10% of our population and 90.32% of our America’s gun murder/suicide rate. And this is assuming the liberals are using the right statistics to bash the United States, because let’s remember that all gun deaths are not equal.

2. Japan has a higher suicide rate than the US with very few civilian firearms in circulations. Thus the implication that you won’t kill yourself if you don’t have a gun is facetious. If you want to die, there’s a thousand ways to off yourself.
3. Those with ability to get a gun? I guess the “study” is counting criminals since everyone has the ability to get a gun illegally. By the way, what’s the murder-rate in prisons? Because those criminals don’t exactly have access to firearms yet they manage to make shanks out of toothbrushes.
4. Correlation does not equal causation. The drowning rate of homes with swimming pools is much higher than homes without them, yet most pool owners are not going to drown just like the great majority of gun owners are not going to die.
5. The blog Guns Save Lives documents every incident of armed self-defense they can find. Here’s a few:

Are you gonna tell these people they would have been better off without a gun? They lived because they had a gun.
