Here’s a comment that caught my attention:

+Gregory Smith I wonder who swears allegiance to the state (and God, which is basically the same thing) that control a far larger portion of their lives? Good luck getting rid of the Federal Reserve and the government bringing you into costly wars. If I was really nasty I could bring up the numbers dependent on food stamps. Oh, and the “patriot act”, the state spying on its own citizens.
Hope you think your gun can protect your “freedom”. Hope them squirrels are tasty, you’re going to eat a lot of them.
And as for you original post: It’s plain dumb so I’m going to assume you’re just some troll posting some stupid shit on purpose to have a laugh.;

The joke’s on you, James, and you’re wrong, God is not the State. You can quit believing in God, you can quit going to church, but you can never quit the State (and if you renounce your citizenship, you’re just trading one State for another), which is why us libertarians and small government constitutionalists fight for a smaller State, smaller government.
Who swears allegiance to the State? Obama does.
“We’ve got to have the brightest minds to help solve our biggest challenges. And it’s a reminder that in this democracy, we the people recognize that this government belongs to us, and it’s up to each of us and every one of us to make it work better. We can’t just stand on the sidelines. We can’t take comfort in just being cynical. We all have a stake in government’s success, because the government is us, and we’re doing things right. When we’re tracking weather more effectively, that saves lives for folks who are in the path of a tornado.”

There are also people pledging allegiance to Obama. How long did it take the government to rescue those fools who ignored Katrina’s evacuation order? Government isn’t us, “we the people” isn’t “we the government.” We are the ones paying for the government and the have the gall to tell us they’re entitled to our respect and support, not because they did anything to deserve it, but because they have a title. A Navy man once told me that in the service you don’t salute the individual; you salute his uniform and what it represents.
A soldier may accept living that kind of lifestyle, but we’re not soldiers, they’re serving their country, we serve ourselves, and we certainly serve no government even if our taxes keep it alive.
Yes, we do have a lot of people on food stamps, that’s because government advertises them on TV, tells the moochers that there’s no shame in being needy.
Yes, the State spies on us, people are too scared of experiencing another 9/11, this is why they allow the TSA to get away with everything, it’s the cattle mentality, not that I can judge, and I’ve done it myself. When I’m at the airport the last thing I want is to fight with a TSA agent and end up missing my flight.
Do I think my gun can protect my freedom? At the very least it gives me a fighting chance. It’s the reason the State carries guns, they to want a fighting chance, and government workers with integrity understand this right shouldn’t be just for them.
As for squirrels: “It’s a delicious meat—incredibly sweet and nutty (thanks to its berry and nut-based diet) and very, very lean. The loin is very small so you cook it exactly as you would a rabbit, either very quickly or for a long time.”

So thanks for the tip, James.
