Call for resignation of NRA lobbyist who invoked Holocaust

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle has called for the resignation of a National Rifle Association lobbyist who reportedly linked gun control to the Holocaust.

NRA spokesman Brian Judy reportedly made the comment while referring to a Jewish donor during a meeting about a Washington ballot measure, Initiative 594, which would expand background checks for gun purchases. Judy is a senior lobbyist for the NRA based in California.

“Now [Seattle entrepreneur Nick Hanauer is] funding, he’s put half a million dollars, toward this policy, the same policy that led to his family getting run out of Germany by the Nazis,” he said at the meeting. “That these people, it’s like any Jewish people I meet who are anti-gun, I think, ‘Are you serious? Do you not remember what happened?’ And why did that happen? Because they registered guns and then they took them.”

The Seattle federation has endorsed Initiative 594. The federation statement said: “It is deeply offensive for anyone to suggest that Jewish supporters of gun violence prevention have ‘forgotten’ the history of our people.”  — jta

Perhaps the Seattle federation has forgotten the Nuremberg Laws of 1933 which deprived an entire group of people, his people, of their right to keep and bear arms.

Perhaps he’s forgotten the courageous Jews for the Warsaw Ghetto, who resisted the Nazis with illegal guns.

Or maybe he’s never heard of Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership.

Either way, a Jew who supports gun control is just like a Jew who hates Israel, a self-hating Jew, someone who doesn’t need a Nazi to put him a gas chamber, because he’ll do the job himself.

So why do so many Jews support gun control and are liberal? Why this self-destructive behavior? Simple. In Judaism there’s a concept called “Tikum Olam” or “heal the world,” it’s God-mandated altruism, helping others, making things better. This is why so many Jews are liberal, they think that by embracing liberal causes they’re making things better. They’re like the liberal Judge who gives a criminal a slap in the wrist hoping he will change his evil ways. You know how giving a kid stuff he hasn’t earned spoils him, it’s the same with liberalism. It’s a fantasy.

Jews suffer the same problem when they forget to use their brains, a common liberal trait whenever their feelings get in the way. Ayn Rand was different because she devoted her entire life to reason, and saw the dangers in the Soviet Union of how forced-altruism could destroy society. Gun control is a form of misguided altruism, we gun owners are asked to sacrifice for the greater good, which is never any good and leads to great suffering.

Jewish supporters of “gun violence prevention” should remember that their enemies are armed, and their response should be to armed themselves instead of trying to disarm people and winning their enmity. They should also imitate the Israelis who proudly open carry their weapons, and who response to threats by fighting back instead of passing laws.

They also need to look at the current violent antisemitism their brethren are experiencing in gun-free Europe. Gun-free rabbis are being beaten, gun-free synagogues are being firebombed, some religions Jewish parents are having their kids wear baseball hats instead of yarmulkes for their protections.

So here’s my proposal to The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, stop getting involved in things that are none of your business. I’m a huge supporter of Israel and have many Jewish friends and even relatives in my life, but all you’re doing is promoting misguided antisemitism. I say misguided because someone who hates all blacks because of Obama is a fool just like someone who hates all Jews because of Bloomberg. Normal people hate ideas and individuals before they hate groups of people.

If you need to advocate for gun control, do it as individuals, but leave the federation out of it because this isn’t a Jewish issue, unless you want to disarm Jews like the Nazis did during the holocaust.

For the record, gun control is extremely offensive, and I demand the resignation of whoever speaks for you.
