The trio mixed with a gun show crowd that was mostly welcoming — with a few hostile undertones — before calling for people to build on the cooperative effort.
“We must never stop fighting,” Giffords said at a post-tour news conference, her fist in the air. “Fight! Fight! Fight! Be bold! Be courageous!”
Fight against what, Gaby? Against the NRA? Against the 2nd Amendment? Just because you got shot doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice our rights.
“Kenneth Hall, who held a sign with a swastika that read in part “gun control made the Holocaust possible,” said the New York background check was not needed.
“I believe this is a publicity stunt for Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords,” Hall said. “They say they’re Second Amendment supporters. I don’t believe they are.”
Hall is right, and I don’t care if Kelly and Giffords own guns, not everyone who owns guns is pro-gun. The Giffords are media whores, they turned a personal tragedy into a political opportunity. Ann Coulter got in trouble a few years ago when she referred to “The Jersey Girls” (group of 9/11 widows) as “Grieferazis,” but she was right. Some people seek out the limelight.
The Giffords are acting, maybe if the NRA had offered them a million bucks to become pro-gun advocates, they would have taken the money. Of course, the NRA has integrity and they know that whores aren’t famous for their loyalty. The NRA can’t afford turncoats, but Bloomberg and Soros can. What these people are after is power, the power to control and make change, they value that more than money. The Giffords are just another pawn in their game.
