The Gun Owners Protection Act.

Is it just me or does it think that every other group but us is protected by the federal government? Gays got ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act), Muslims and women have the EEOC, Indians have reservations, Transgendered people can use any bathroom they want in California, at least 2 States prohibit discrimination against body size (fat rights), the disabled have the Americans with Disabilities act, yet while everyone else is protected, 2 Gonzaga college students facing expulsion for using a gun in self-defense.

Our rights are mentioned by the 2nd Amendment, yet discriminating against gun owners is very easy, the magic word is “property.” Universities that get public dollars as well as employers that may have received corporate welfare feel entitled to discriminated against our guns, and thus against us.

Do we need a Gun Owners Protect Act to get rid of all or most of the gun-free zones? You’d think the 2nd Amendment would be enough, but maybe it isn’t. Maybe in this age of protected categories we have no choice but to demand we be included as well.

I’m no legislator, but I would love to see a Gun Owners Protection Act that outlaws employment termination against employees and students that use a legally-owned gun in self-defense at work or school, outlaw Gun-Free Zones; and consider gun owners a protected group just like race, religion and sexual orientation.

In the past, some talked about how a concealed carry permit should be recognized in all 50 States. There were issues with that, since States like Vermont don’t require any permits to carry concealed. However, I think it’s an idea worth examining in. There’s no right to drive cars, yet your driver’s license is recognized in all 50-states and even foreign countries like Mexico and Canada. Our right to keep and bear arms deserved no less.

Anti-Gun Apartment Complex Threatens USMC Vet.

A 77-year-old Marines Veterans is being told to hit the road if he doesn’t get rid of his guns.

““I’m a hunter. I’m a licensed conceal and carry person,” Dorsch said.

Dorsch says the guns, which he keeps securely locked in a safe, make him feel secure in his home.

“They want to take them all away from me. They say I can’t live here,” he said.

Dorsh says apartment managers told him to give up the guns and stay, give notice and move out voluntarily, or be forced to move out if he doesn’t comply with the new policy.

Now what the hell is wrong with Ross Management Company in Castle Rock, CO? Here’s what I suggest, go to this link http://www.ross-management.com/ross-community/colorado/castle-rock/oakwood-apartments/?type=community#contact and tell them how you feel. Don’t threaten anyone, be polite, but firm.

UPDATE: After making national news with their anti-gun policy, they have decided to back down: ““These community policy changes were distributed without the knowledge or authorization of the Board of Directors of the Douglas County Housing Partnership or its staff,” a Douglas County Housing Partnership release said. “This board does not support any action that infringes on an individual’s rights and will not allow Ross Management to implement these changes.”
