Moms Demand Action is having a rally against “gun and domestic violence,” nice move, linking two issues that have nothing to do with one another.
Here’s a revealing quote:
“”My daughter felt powerful, she always felt like she could hold her own. But when he decided to use that gun she lost her power,” said her mother Elizabeth Crecente. “She began dating this boy for 2.5 years at Bowie and the day after Valentine’s Day in 2006 he led her into a wooded area in our neighborhood where he had hid a shotgun. He put my daughter on her knees and he shot her execution style.””

Exactly lady! Feeling powerful doesn’t mean anything, it’s about BEING POWERFUL, it’s about being ABLE to defend yourself. It’s about not ending up on our knees, shot like a Jew above a mass grave in Poland.
You liberals are all about feelings, feeling safe, feeling powerful, feeling pretty. Conservatives and libertarians are about BEING, not feeling. Our self-esteem comes from ability, either you can or you can’t, there’s no middle here. Either you’re safe or unsafe, prepared or unprepared.
Your daughter dated a bastard, that was her decision. Your daughter chose not to carry a gun, that was also her decision. The man that shot her is guilty, of course, but you really think she’s dead because he had a gun? He could have beat her to death, stabbed her, burned her alive, put rat poison in her coffee. When it comes to murder, there are no limits, but only one solution: Having a gun so you can have a chance.
I like Miranda Lambert’s song “Gunpowder & Lead,” now that’s being powerful.
