The forces of freedom are marching!

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A year after Johann Deffert was stopped by Grand Rapids police with a holstered pistol on his hip, supporters are holding a march on Sunday, March 2, to show support for Deffert and gun rights.

Deffert has filed a federal lawsuit against the city and officers.

“We’re hoping to demonstrate to the law-enforcement community and just the community at large that we are law-abiding people who don’t need to be detained at gunpoint,” Tom Lambert, the assistant legislative director of Open Carry Michigan, said Friday.

He said he has received support from around the community, not just from gun owners.

“I want to empower people with information and let them make their own decisions,” he said.
