MDA better than NRA because it’s free?

I was riling people up on the Target Facebook page which is crawling with anti-gunners now that they agreed to respect the Open Carry Movement’s right to keep and bear arms. Here’s what I said and one of the responses:

STSA
Thank you for not being ammophobic. I support open carry, I conceal carry, have shopped many times at your business. Will keep shopping there. Don’t listen to the MDA losers, the NRA has 5 million members, MDA has 147,000 likes. 47% of Americans own guns, 53% don’t but 99.99% of them don’t care if we’re carrying guns. Listen to your sales, watch the bottom line, Gunsense is bad for business. Respecting gun owners is good for business.
  • Matt Malecot 5 million PAID members… starting at $25 a year. Membership in MDA is free.

    • Matt Malecot No it costs $25 per year to be a member… it’s a lot harder to get members when they have to fork over their credit card information

    • Fish Onthehook lol, you get what you pay for..

Of course it’s easy for MDA to be free when they have a billionaire sugar daddy paying the bills. Would they still be free without Bloomberg’s money? I don’t think so.

It’s important to know that REAL ORGANIZATIONS like The Sierra Club, the ACLU, The Humane Society, etc, aren’t free. Why? Because when you’re passionate about something, you’re willing to pay for it.

What is Moms Demand Action but a Facebook page that grew to 183,000 Likes? NRA news has 507,000 likes, but most importantly, they have 5 million members. That’s at more than $100 million in yearly dues.

What MDA does get is publicity worth millions, imagine what the NRA could do if we got that kind of positive press? Yet even with negative press or no press, we’re still growing!

Does MDA have a magazine like the NRA has? Is it called “America’s Last Freedom”? Poor MDA, poor anti-gunners, they haven’t a clue about gun politics.
