Manager stops crime with .22

The sight of a gun came make thugs come to their senses, as we see here:

A manager at the Stevi B’s Pizza on Alps Road reportedly revealed a gun to a group of men who were threatening him, police said.

According to an Athens-Clarke police report, the incident occurred Saturday about 5 p.m.

The manager confronted a group of people after another manager at the restaurant claimed the group had stolen an extra soft drink cup. When the manager questioned the men about it, they produced a receipt for the cup, according to the report.

The manager told police that he apologized to them, but several men became irate and began to threaten him and swing at him, according to the report.

The manager said several family members in the group were having to hold the men back from attacking him, according to police.

The manager then told police because he felt his life was in danger, he removed a .22 semi-automatic weapon from his pocket and told the group they needed to leave, according to the report.

The manager said he did not point the gun at anyone, rather he kept it pointed at the ground, police said.

Several witnesses of the incident told police a similar account of the situation.

Surveillance video of the incident will be reviewed by police, according to the report.

No arrests were made in connection with the incident, police said.
