It’s no wonder more than 50 mayors have left Mayors Against Illegal Guns, smart mayors don’t commit political suicide.
Unfortunately, Jackie Holcombe wasn’t one of them:
As Gun Save Lives puts it: “…the former mayor of Morrisville, NC who made headlines earlier this year when she asked vendors in her area to stop selling semi-automatic rifles.”
According to local media reports,
Holcombe has drawn the ire of both the National Rifle Association and Grassroots NC for asking Gander Mountain to stop selling semi-automatic rifles at its local store and for joining the Mayors Against Illegal Guns lobbying group.
Holcombe has aggressively sought to retain her post, despite the controversy, taking out a front-page ad on the News & Observer on election day, raising about $12,500 for her campaign and frequently updating her social media accounts.

Sorry Holcombe, it takes more than Facebook and Twitter to win elections. Poop is poop even if you take a picture and put it on Instagram.
Other mayors should learn from you, you stand with MAIG, you can kiss your job goodbye.
