Gun School Closes in Bonita Springs, FL.

This is NOT the place where you want to to do your concealed weapons class:

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – When WINK News Call For Action toured the Gun School in Bonita Springs, we were among the last people to be inside the facility.

The current owner, Aaron Hutto, has now closed the doors. He says it’s a nightmare that is finally coming to an end.

“We learned some disturbing things about (former owner) Ken Silver so we are no longer gonna be associated with Gun School or Ken,” said Hutto.

Hutto is talking about Ken Silver, the founder and original owner of the Gun School. Silver signed the company over to Hutto in September, in a strange circumstance.

“Ken came to me the beginning of September very concerned,” Hutto said. “He said that his girlfriend, who is German, was leaving him and that she was gonna come after him for a piece of the company.”

Hutto said Silver asked him to temporarily take over the company.

“Three, four weeks later he moved to Germany and stuck me with the company.”

The real reason Silver signed over the papers is because there’s an active summons in his name.

In February, WINK News Call For Action went undercover to expose the questionable gun training students received for their concealed weapons permit.

The training took place in a conference room, where students fired two rounds at a corkboard. WINK News showed the video to two experts who said it didn’t meet the state’s requirements, which say students have to handle and fire a real gun.

After our investigation aired, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services started looking into the training for armed security licenses.

According to court documents, Silver refused to turn over documents.

A look at his social media suggests Silver has fled the country, though WINK News could not independently verify that information.

Hutto says this situation has left him in a tough position.

“Money has not been coming in, people haven’t been getting paid properly. I’ve been paying some of the instructors out of my own pocket,” Hutto said.

“We’ve gotta shut down. We have to sever all ties with Gun School and Ken Silver or it will ruin all of our careers.”
