Lupica: Gun nuts storm Albany to oppose year-old SAFE Act, which makes more sense than these Astorino supporters

A rally in Empire State Plaza featured a crowd of Second Amendment-crazed gun owners, opposing a law that has been on the books for more than a year and ended up doing nothing the naysayers feared.

This time some of the gun nuts in the crowd in Albany strung up a likeness of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, then tried to say afterward that they didn’t want it to look as if Cuomo were hanging there in the Empire State Plaza, oh no, they just wanted him to look like a puppet.

What does that mean? The dummies in this crowd wanted you to think that the Cuomo dummy was the only one in attendance.

You really saw this in Albany Tuesday: Rob Astorino, a Republican out of Westchester County who wants to be his party’s nominee for governor, clearly plans to make his side of the fight against Cuomo, if it is the two of them against each other in November, as dumb and lousy as the sight of the guy in Tea Party dressup — Melbourne Sann is the name — paddling the effigy of the governor of the state with a toy rifle.

Sann was quoted as saying he did what he did “before we have to come down here with regular weapons.” Another guy who thinks that a gun in his hands makes him tough. He is from Rome, N.Y., by the way. I grew up in Oneida, about 20 minutes away, and spent a lot of my growing-up years in Rome, where I had a lot of family. Clearly they lived on the smarter side of town.

You know, I could get angry, but I’m not gonna. If the liberals have to resort to this to attack us, they already lost the debate.

Fact! We’re not dummies, we’re patriots.

Fact! Effigies of hated politicians are an American tradition, Lupica is a HYPOCRITE for not attacking Occupy Wall Street and their liberal friends, they also do effigies, and sometimes they burn them.

Fact! Lots of bad things have happened after the SAFE Act, everything from gun confiscation to arrests for having more than 7-rounds in your magazine. The fact that some parts of the SAFE Act have already been invalidated shows this was a bad law to begin with

Fact! If gun control works, show me the great crime-decrease since the SAFE Act was passed. They can’t do that, which is why they attack our rallies and our costumes.
