The problem with independents is they have no ideological loyalty of any kind. Right now the left-wing media is celebrating O’Reilly’s comments:
“The FBI should background check anyone buying a firearm in America. That just makes sense,” O’Reilly said. “If you are paranoid and believe the government is stockpiling information so they can come to your house and take your guns, that’s your problem — your problem. But the government has an obligation to enhance public safety.”

I’m not paranoid, Bill, I know history. Our U.S. Government in Connecticut and New York confiscated guns.
Furthermore, I have never asked the government to protect me. When I go out on a walk at 11pm at night, the government isn’t there, but my Smith & Wesson is. That’s self-reliance, that’s the American way.
It’s ironic that in the past Bill O’Reilly has complained a lot about the government. He complains about government waste, redundant agencies, judges that are soft on criminals, huge mistakes in diplomacy, yet he wants to trust the government with public safety? Come on, Bill, you know better than that. If government is so great, how come you own guns? How come you have armed bodyguards?
Obama’s goals aren’t public safety, his true goal is gun confiscation by any means necessary. He wants to make gun ownership so cumbersome that only the most pro-gun people will attempt it, and then even they won’t be safe.
Today is enhanced background checks, tomorrow is ammo taxes, one-gun-a-month, magazine bans, magazine limits, etc. Obama’s just paving the way for Hillary, who had admitted admiring the Australian and English models of gun confiscation.
