More insanity from The Gun-Hating State….
Shattered glass and an alert neighbor helped police nab an 18-year-old man carrying an air gun in his waistband, said police.
Tajah Morris, 18, was charged on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with unlawful possession of a handgun and criminal mischief, said Bayonne Police Capt. Walter Rogers.
Police were tipped by a resident hearing shattered glass across the street from a home near 50th Street and Avenue C, said Rogers.
A witness told police he saw two males come out of an alleyway on 50th Street and then meet another two men down the street.
Rogers said police saw four men near 48th and Broadway that matched the description given out and approached them, but Morris began to fidget and place his hands inside his jacket, said Rogers.
Police said Morris had a handgun tucked inside his waistband.
Rogers said a 17-year-old in the group told officers he had a knife.
“Officers recovered the 8-inch long kitchen knife from the teen,” said Rogers. “The knife had masking tape around the handle.”
The teen was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
