Now that legislators are pushing for background checks in Wisconsin, here’s what you can tell people on the fence.
1. Wisconsin did not become the Wild West after the concealed weapons law was approved, Wisconsin will be not safer after background checks are required in gun shows.
2. There is no loophole to be closed, most criminals don’t go to gun shows, and if you closed gun shows to them, they’ll simply find other places like Facebook and Instagram. Close that to them? There’s plenty of other websites that will gladly take their business.
3. If support for background checks is as high as 92%, why aren’t people rushing to join anti-gun organizations? Clearly those stats are inaccurate. The Human Rights Campaign (same-sex marriage people) have far more members than all anti-gun organizations combined. Why? Because there’s more passion for that than there is for anti-gun nonsense.
4. “If I buy a gun from my cousin or uncle that isn’t a loophole in the law. If we are hunting in the woods and your gun breaks, and I borrow you my extra rifle, then that would be an illegal transfer,” Nass said. “That’s not improper, and punishing law-abiding citizens won’t solve anything. Bad guys, the ones who commit crimes, are going to find a way to get weapons. They will steal them, and this law won’t do anything to prevent that.”

5. If gun control works then explain all the shootings in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Oakland, Washington DC, etc. There are no gun shows in Chicago, much less gun stores, yet there are plenty of bangers shooting bangers.
