Gun Control Fails in Jordan.

Now that “a member of Jordan’s Parliament opened fire, during a lawmaking session, on a rival MP using a “Kalashnikov rifle.” We have an example of how those silly gun control don’t keep anyone safe.

Here’s the gun control laws Jordan does have:

Civilian Gun Registration
In Jordan, the law requires13 that a record of the acquisition, possession and transfer of each privately held firearm be retained in an official register

Firearm Marking

In Jordan, a unique identifying mark on each firearm is required by law14 13

Firearm Tracing

In Jordan, state authorities carry out13 recognised arms tracing and tracking procedures
Here’s how the law works after the fact:
“He faces charges including attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and resisting the security forces,” she added.”

Penis Gun Gets Swede Beat Up.

It’s hard to be an artist, specially when your art looks like a real gun.

Swedish artist Bengt Andersson was left bruised and bloodied after a clash with security guards who mistook his pistol sculpture loaded with steel penises to be a threat against controversial colleague Lars Vilks.

The guards had been stationed at the gallery to protect Lars Vilks, an artist who has faced numerous death threats and a suspected assassination plot since his drawing of the Muslim prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog was first published by Swedish regional daily Nerikes Allehanda in 2007.”

So here are my tips to artists unfamiliar with guns, real or not.

1. Carry your gun concealed.

2. If you take it out, don’t point it at anyone.

3. Before you take it out, let a security guard or someone else that could hurt you know what you’re about to do.

UN goes after Zimmerman.

George Zimmerman didn’t have a good week, his wife is seeking a divorce, and now even the UN is after him.

“In an article published this week at UN News Centre, Mutuma Ruteere, a “special reporter on racism,” wrote that a group of UN experts is calling on the Obama administration to finish a review that will decide whether or not George Zimmerman will face federal civil rights charges for the 2012 shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin:

“We call upon the US Government to examine its laws that could have discriminatory impact on African Americans, and to ensure that such laws are in full compliance with the country’s international legal obligations and relevant standards,” said human rights expert Verene Shepherd, who currently heads the UN Working Group of Experts of People of African Descent.

With Christians under siege throughout the Middle East and elsewhere, this week the United Nations sees as a priority the status of a local crime in the state of Florida. And not just a local crime, but one that has been adjudicated by a jury and one that an FBI report proved had nothing to do with racism. “
