In the case of the Navy Yard Shooter, liberals like trained monkeys will be demanding more gun control. Never mind that ABC admits that the District of Columbia “has a litany of laws on the books that make it more difficult to obtain some firearms, impossible to obtain others, and illegal to carry any loaded gun in the city.”Source: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/09/d-c-gun-laws-some-of-the-strictest-in-the-u-s/
So violating the letter and spirit of the Second Amendment didn’t keep anyone safe, neither did the following:
“Although Alexis had been arrested for two previous gun incidents–including shooting out the tires of a co-worker’s car, according to information released by the Seattle Police Department–he was not prosecuted in either case. “

Really? So in pro-gun control Seattle they don’t prosecute people who shoot tires? Gee, now wonder the criminals do what they want, the DA’s are too busy to prosecute them!
Time Magazine even surprised me with a moment of accidental honesty:
“Recently defeated federal gun control measures wouldn’t have stopped Alexis’s purchase either. Legislation co-sponsored by Senators Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and Joe Manchin of West Virginia in April would have provided grants to states to improve the national crime database and include mental health records for the seriously mentally ill. But while Alexis’s father told police that his son had anger management issues and suffered from PTSD, there is no evidence that any member of his family sought legal action for his reported mental health issues. In other words, neither current nor proposed laws would have blocked Alexis from arming himself.”

Clearly the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Good guys however obey the law, and when they see a Gun-Free Zone sign, they leave their guns in the car or at home. So here’s an idea, instead of demonizing the mentally ill and passing draconian laws that rarely get enforced, why not just let us keep our guns? In fact, is it not shameful that military installations are such easy targets? You’d think that the military would be the most gun-friendly institution in the federal government, yet instead they disarm the troops and expect to fight a gunman with nothing but their wits.
