Scott from Flipping Vegas has a gun.

I like to keep the TV on when I’m blogging, so this was a complete surprise to me. The episode where I saw Scott drawing his weapon  “Doomsday House” from Flipping Vegas, which according to A&E, is about restoring a house owned by preppers.

The left accuses him of being gay and “racist”, yet there’s no proof of either charge.

And the dude is saying he has to spend $100 a day on tacos to feed all his Mexican workers.

Well call the KKK, looks like they’ve got a new Kleagle (Klan recruiter). LOL

Since when is saying Mexican racist? I’ve worked with Mexicans, they do like them tacos.

Here’s what the guy really does:

Once a real estate investor’s dream, Las Vegas now has thousands of abandoned properties desperately in need of transformation. Enter Scott Yancey.

Scott, a tough-talking, risk-taking, house flipper, gambles on homes no one else wants. But his strong commitment to getting the job done has helped him win big in the real estate industry.

FLIPPING VEGAS follows Scott and his team – wife and interior designer Amie, and a host of wild project managers and beautiful real estate agents – as they work to breathe new life into run down properties. Despite the roadblocks, the conflict, and the drama, Scott always finishes what he starts – leaving behind a beautiful new home, excited new homeowners and most importantly, a profit in his pocket.

And that’s what the liberals hate, a hardworking man making a living, being his own boss, earning his keep instead of doing some useless government job or collecting Section-8. These are the people they call “vultures,” that “profit from other people’s misery.”

My Response to Scott’s Critics

My brother in law is a contractor so I understand Scott’s world better than others. There are competing interests, you have lazy workers that want to take their time (my travertine floors took 2-weeks even though it was a 1/1.5 condo) and one of the laborers smoked in my apartment and left a cigarette on the toilet. You know what’s funny? My bro told me I was lucky, sometimes construction workers break stuff, I don’t know if you saw the episode where one of the Mexicans dropped the countertop, or the ones where Scott tells them to save the cabinets and they trash them.

You may think he’s an a-hole, but he’s dealing with people that don’t care about his budget, don’t have attention to detail, aren’t willing to do a perfect job, so he has to be on top of them. Ironically, he always tells his contractors that if they do a good job, he’ll hire them again, and you do see some recurring characters, such as the pool guy with tattoos all over his arms and hands.

In the end, I think Scott screams and get nasty because if he doesn’t, they won’t take him seriously and they won’t remember what they did wrong. Frankly, I think his approach is better than the passive-aggressive BS we see in corporate America. I can deal with screaming, I can scream back, but the passive aggressive BS kills me.

  1. I agree with his support of the second amendment. But his language is straight from the gutter. Especially when talking to his wife. Come on dude, treat her like the lady she is.

  2. Interesting comment, Paul. What about the way his wife talks to him? Is she nice or is she like him? Frankly, I think actions speak louder than words. Some men sweet talk women, but cheat on them with every whore they can find.

    • “Some men sweet talk women, but cheat on them with every whore they can find.”

her wifey doesn’t have to worry about that. he will never cheat with a whore, maybe cheat with an ASS-HOLE.

  3. you know why he’s angry all the time? because he’s trying so hard to hide in the closet! he’s trying so hard to be straight that he’s voice is SQUEALING inside that tiny little closet. lmfao!
the first time i ever saw this show i thought to myself, “oh look the gay bestfriend and her bff” i got so excited but when he said “my wife” i was laughing like WHAT?!?

    • He is angy all the time because it is all staged. While he is selling it is a tv show. Watch the first few episodes where he is not angry. The anger increases the popularity. BTW They have a real estate scam they do in a city near you.

  4. I enjoy watching Flipping Vegas. I don’t want to take away what he & his wife do……BUT, it really possess me off to hear him talk down to the people who do the REAL work! It don’t matter if he has a legit contractor, or if he went to known stereotype of Home Depot. Give a little respect to those whom make it possible for your ass to make that money you brag about!

    • I understand your feelings, but a lot of laborers don’t respect the properties they work on. Some won’t flush the toilet (see Flipping Out), some will smoke in the bathroom instead of going to a balcony, some do a crappy job unless you supervise them all the time. I personally believe in being nice to people unless they give me reason not to, others are mean from the get go.

      • The key word is “some”. What’s the difference from seeing things the way you put it, and saying African Americans have to be supervised because “some of them steal from you?

        • True, but stereotypes are born out of the actions of some. We have a bad experience with someone and suddenly we become suspicious of his group instead of seeing it as the acts of an individual. Everyone does that, even Jessee Jackson once said that if he’s walking in a dark street and turns around and sees whites instead of blacks, he sights with relief. He said he was ashamed to admit that, but based on the crime in his neighborhood and who usually commits the crime, he had no choice but to admit that.

Juan Williams himself got fired from NPR for admitting that when he sees Muslims in full-Muslim garb on airplanes, he’s somewhat afraid.

The thing about reality TV is that the performers often forget that the cameras are there. If you were being followed by cameras all the time, would you watch what you say all the time or eventually drop your guard? I think Scott drops his guard.

          • No disrespect to you but, when my boys & I see a barefoot white person, we don’t automatically assume they are homeless crack addicts. Which by the way my boys are half white.
And coming from Grandparents that were here under the “Bracero Program”
I know we were taught to work hard. So in essence, what you are trying to justify, can be compared to the Zoot Suit Riots.

  5. Suzy, crack addicts aren’t recognized by their clothes, their recognized by their looks. Crack does certain things to do body, anyone who has driven past crackwhores knows this. Furthermore, the barefoot look has nothing to do with white people but with being low class. Stores do put signs with words like “no shoes, no shirt, no service” for a reason, although sometimes they ignore them.

The Zoot Suit Riots had to do with soldiers on leave harassing brown Hispanics, it wasn’t about fashion.

I don’t believe people need to be PC, in fact, I’m sick of PC. The founder of Mozilla got fired because a few years ago he donated money to an anti-gay marriage campaign. This is ridiculous, I’m sick of the purges. Most liberals offend me yet I don’t see them getting fired, yet Eich gets fired and we’re told “don’t complain commie, it’s a free market.” Would Eich have gotten fired if he had donated to a pro-gay marriage campaign? And if so, would the ACLU get involved? Sure they would. Those Nazis only respect the free market when it does what they want, when it doesn’t, they sue.

Here’s an idea for corporations listening, STOP LISTENING TO A MINORITY OF ACTIVISTS. Unless people are unsubscribing in droves and raising real hell, it’s just online noise. More importantly, realize that when you fire an individual, you’re also firing his group or class membership. That’s why the Duck Dynasty controversy backfired, when you mess with Phil you mess with every Christian that agrees with Phil.

  6. The problem is that Scott does sometimes act like an A-hole on the show. He really does. In one episode where it was cold, the stain that was going to be applied hardened and became unusable because there was no heat in the house. He went out, got more stain, bought a space heater, and then told the two employees who were waiting back at the freezing house that he got a heater to keep them warm.

However, he then said, “But more importantly, to keep the stain warm.”

I mean, that really wasn’t necessary. Just uncalled for. It’s great that he’s his own man, that he works hard, that he makes a good living renovating and flipping houses that would otherwise sit empty or get taken over by squatters or junkies. But he is a bit of an A-hole.

  7. This guy comes off extremely effeminate. There is 0 chemistry between he and the chick on the show. It is the same premise on EVERY episode. They buy a house at a “great deal.” They both do a walk through. They both agree it’s a great buy with loads of potential, but that it has outdated interior and/or exterior design that will require major renovation. Scott wants minimum investment for maximum return, and she immediately wants to knock out the first wall and replace all the cabinets and fixtures, much to Scott’s dismay. He says she can’t have all these renovations, then she does it anyway “behind his back.” He pretends to get pissed about it, then the usual “unexpected” renovation issue takes place that happens to get repaired at the last minute. The end result is that Amie was “right” all along about the extra added expense she authorized to do the extra renovations, and the house sells with a huge profit margin for the company. He then presents her with some gag gift or an expensive piece of jewelry after the sale in the office. Such heroic nonsense.

    • Even though it’s a reality show, there’s editing going on. For example, we never see Scott having breakfast with his wife. Is he somewhat effeminate? Yes, but so is Woody Allen and nobody accuses him of being gay. Besides, that’s a stereotype anyway, my mother’s best friend is effeminate yet he had a wife and kids.

You’re also right that he always wants to make a minimum investment while she wants to spend every penny and then some. That makes sense since she’s a designer and doesn’t have an eye for the budget as Scott does.

Is the show a little predictable? Yes, but I watch it because I love seeing the construction and the transformation. I’m also amazed at how they do all that in a week or 10 days.
